A ton of French people speak English. They are right across from England after all. Plus their job requires them to travel. I'm sure they know many languages.

Regarding the French, I am sure they know at the least English. Many of the Europeans I have come across do, and often at least on other language as well other than their own. But as I said, I'd bet it was a matter of an American broadcast company wanting to speak to the American team.

@Napoleon and his knife: Sounds to me like just a good old "hunting" knife. I use the quotes because while it may not have been used in that fashion, as soon as you take it out of the folding or stilleto style knives, it generally gets classified a hunting knife until roughly the 1980's I beleive. Unless, of course, it is a military knife. If you can, shoot me a picture of it. I am more a visual person so I may be able to tell you more if I can see it. Plus, I just really like seeing any knife I can. Weapons collecting, and especially knives, is kind of my longest running hobby. Though I suppose, since I used to customize my G.I.Joes, fig customization may technically be the longest running...

@minfigCharmed: I recently saw someone on some other corner of the interwebz use the smiley ":oP" and instantly thought of you and your ":o)". As such, as a sort of homage to you, I have decided to replace my typical ":P" with ":oP".

I don't actually have a camera right now, but it's sooo small, I doubt it'd be considered a hunting knife. When I say "about an inch longer than a middle finger," I mean the blade AND the hilt. It's quite small, and just like the the ones I've seen punks use in movies as a hidden weapon. You could stick it in your pocket (with the sheath on, of course :9 ), and no one would really notice. If I can, I'll get a pic.

My sister did the :0) thing forever, long before I even was on BF. She even did it in actual writing. :D

In other matters, it's awesome rolling down zombie-infested streets on Saints Row 3 with Two Steps From Hell and the Black Keys playing. :|~

OH! One of those types. I think I have something similar actually. Never was able to find much on it though.

In other news, there were two local LEGO resellers at a flea market today I went to. They both had Brickforge products and I somehow resisted picking up the Bugout pack, Zombie Defence pack, and the Fallout pack, amongst other things. I regretted this decision immediatly. BUT! I may be selling some old sets AND joing the local LUG so that's something.

I don't know that I would've been able to walk away ... I'd really like to have pieces from each of those.
But, Sweet if you join the LUG, always nice to have associations with those who enjoy one's hobby!

And ... :o)

@Napo: a while back you asked, I think it was you, if anyone has watched any of the Olympics ... sadly, not I. I wasn't even aware they were happening - woot.

@Napo - I know you really enjoy "old" things, but maybe it's time to invest in a new camera ;) You could probably get a very nice one for $150. That way you could take some photos of the things you find or buy and store them on a flash drive or something.

So I went to work last night, very tired from painting for 3 hrs in the sun. I expected to be done by like 3AM at the latest. Not to be. :\ Ended up punching out at 5 AM. Oh well, at least the extra time won't count against my unemployment this week.

Wow, I'm surprised you have one; I couldn't find one online. Could you find it and measure it? We might have the same exact thing.

Oh, man, you're missing out! It's really exciting.

Good idea, QB, but I'm a miserly Stray Cat who actually has buckets of pennies. ;9 Every cent, my precious! Actually, I have been considering it. I'll probably wait till my birthday and use some of that money. That way it doesn't feel like spending my paycheck. :9

Ooh, not fun. I've had stuff like that happen to me. When I was doing my job a while back it was 110 degrees outside, and after a while I just stopped sweating. And then something kept me up till 4 AM...

I know. That's when I came in and guzzled Dr. Pepper with two fans pointed at me with my shirt off. :9

The Olympics are extremely boring, and I have a severe problem with the fact that host countries knowingly spend many time more than estimated profits to put on a freaking two week show, and then abandon the stuff they spent copious amounts of money on.

@Napo: Pennies have a negative impact on the economy. They cost more to make than the amount of gold in the U.S. Treasury that they represent. They either need to figure out how to produce them in a cheaper manner, or just stop making them.

Did you say the handle on the knife is faux ivory, or is it antler? It might be a fishing knife. We use knives like that for cutting line and gutting smaller fish, as well as other miscellaneous tasks that arise while in an isolated area.
